I wasn’t expecting to see anything here in Palm Beach when the space shuttle launched a few minutes ago, but I had my camera ready just in case. Although it was nothing like actually being at the Kennedy Space Center for the launch, my heart skipped a beat as I looked north to see the huge vapor trail and the orange glow from the flame of the engines. Just as quick as she appeared, she vanished into the upper atmosphere in the blink of an eye.
I captured what I could on camera, you can see the vapor trail and if you blow up the one photo, you can see the flame. This would have been an awesome sight if it were a night launch. Now I have to go to Kennedy to see one up close, as this was amazing and I’m a distance away!
