Both the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader and Citizens Voice newspapers are reporting that yet another Luzerne County politician is set to go down in a blaze of glory. This time it’s Allen Bellas, executive director of the Luzerne County Redevelopment Authority and president of the Wyoming Valley West School Board.
No word on exactly why he’s resigning, but the papers are reporting it is connected to the ongoing federal corruption probe, in which two members of the Wilkes-Barre Area School Board have been charged of accepting bribes.
While on the Times Leader‘s site, I hit their “Luzerne County Judges” special section which lists all the articles they published on the kids-for-cash scandal, when the page loaded I found the ads that they are running on that page to be, well…. ironic. I guess they feel Conahan and Civarella will need some help in their defense.
