A banner day for florists, card shoppes and restaurants.
If you’re in New York City and all the roses, chocolates and kisses make you a little amorous but you forgot to bring a raincoat, you now have nothing to fear.
The New York City Health Department has released an iPhone and Android app that uses your current GPS location to get a free NYC Condom.
According to the press release, “With almost 1,000 condom distribution locations throughout the five boroughs currently accessible through the mobile app, New Yorkers will find that no matter where they are, they can always be protected from sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, and unintended pregnancy.”
Happy Valentine’s Day!
The health department says the app is targeted towards the younger generation who “crave convenience.” With more than 36-million condoms handed out last year, I’d say the cravings are deeper than “convenience.”
The app will use the phone’s current location and list the closest five locations along with walking, driving and subway directions.
For those spending Valentine’s Day solo, sorry guys – it doesn’t list the five closest hookers.
