I remember my first trip to Michigan.
No it wasn’t for the annual Tulip Festival in Holland or to visit Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth where since 1945 it’s Christmas every day of the year.
I, along with my business partner Joe Palko, were visiting one of our very first Solid Cactus customers – SafetyGlassesUSA.com – in Three Rivers. We met the owners, Mike and Kendra Eldridge, toured their operation, visited a local zoo where we saw Jack Hanna and downed a few beers at a dueling piano bar.
My memory hasn’t failed me yet.
That was quite a while ago when I had slightly more hair and SafetyGlassesUSA.com was in its infancy. Since then I’ve watched Mike and Kendra grow their business, move into a larger facility and continue to be successful eCommerce entrepreneurs.

I may have to take a trip back to Michigan to buy the team a round and pick up some plastic snowmen at that Christmas shop. My neighbors would love to see something new in my front yard. I have a feeling they’re tired of the flock of pink flamingos.
