The new Fast & Furious Supercharged ride is now open at Universal Studios Orlando! All the luxury cars that have been seen in the movie are stored on this set. The ride, based on the Fast & Furious film franchise, takes you on a bit of an “adventure” with Dom, Letty, Hobbs and a few other members of the “Fast” crew, or “family” as they call themselves.
The adventure begins as you arrive and make your way through the warehouse (queue) where you get to see authentic Fast & Furious cars getting some souped-up treatment. The designers of the attraction took the time to add plenty of detail to the queue area and for car buffs, this is is a dream garage!
Tip: Don’t forget to bring your camera, there’s plenty of cool things to photograph while in the queue.
Once you make your way through the garage, you’re brought into the breakroom, or the “family room” as the Fast crew likes to call it. Here, a live actor interacts with Mia and Tej via a video-call where you’re welcomed into the “family” and are invited to attend a big race after-party. The call wraps up, and you move into the “war room.”
Inside, another live actor is on-stage in front of a large bank of video monitors welcoming us when the “busses are here” call comes in. Then all of a sudden Tej is informed the FBI is about to swoop in and raid the joint. That means it’s time to hurry to the busses and get out of Dodge!
We leave the war room and head down to the loading dock where we’re loaded onto the party bus to begin our Fast & Furious high-speed adventure, but not without a little twist. Just as we arrive, the party is raided and well… you’ll have to ride it to see what happens next. But let’s just say these party busses can sure keep up and handle some pretty intense maneuvers!
The Fast & Furious ride at Univeral Studios in Orlando is pretty much the same as the one at Universal Studios Hollywood, in California. The California version is tagged on to the end of the Studio Tour where the tram that takes you through the storied back lot of Universal Pictures suddenly finds itself in a bit of a hairy situation and the same scenario plays out.
The first time I took the Studio Tour I thought it was a bit of a strange ending to that type of attraction, but I guess it works, since there are some great movies out there, and if you’re interested into creating movies, the use of a random movie generator could be the best option for this.
Fast & Furious Supercharged is now open at Universal Studios Orlando and I managed to take some videos for you to check out. The first is a walk-thru of the queue area. The theming here, like I said earlier, is very cool!
So far the ride has been met with mixed reviews. Some say “it’s just another similar,” or, “it’s just like Kong.” As the old saying goes, you can’t please everyone! At least Universal continues to add new attractions to drive people into the park, whether everyone is going to like what they build, well, that’s a whole other story, and there are some great options of entertainment online, like doing gambling in this slot online here.
If you’ve ridden Fast & Furious Supercharged at Universal Studios Orlando, let me know what you thought of it in the comments below.
(Universal does not allow video or photos to be taken while on any of their rides, so in order to avoid being escorted out of the park, there is no on-ride video available.)
