Florida’s tallest launch coaster, Tigris, is set to open at Busch Gardens in Tampa on April 19, 2019. The latest addition to the theme park will take riders on a frontward and backward ride through twists and turns at 60 miles per hour, beginning with a 150-foot launch to the sky!
With 1,800 feet of steel track, the coaster is designed to mimic the agility of… a tiger, what else?
This coaster isn’t unique to Busch Gardens, however. The park’s parent company, SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, has installed the Premier Rides Sky Rocket II at Busch Gardens Williamsburg as Tempesto and at SeaWorld San Diego as Electric Eel.
While the ride opens April 19, passholders will get an opportunity to take it for a ride during special early access hours the first two weekends in May. For more info, click here.
The next big thing coming to Busch Gardens Tampa is the expected transformation of the park’s closed wooden coaster, Gwazi, into a steel/wood hybrid opening in 2020.
