Solid Cactus®, an award-winning web design company and total solutions e-commerce provider, announces that it will move its business to the Westmoreland Business Center, the former Westmoreland Elementary School in Shavertown. When the move is complete, the building will be renamed the Solid Cactus Technology Center. Solid Cactus will begin to leave its current offices in the Jewelcor Building in Wilkes-Barre at the end of this year.
“This is all about parking,” said Solid Cactus President Scott Sanfilippo. “We loved being downtown, but we are growing so fast we had to plan for our future needs. Our assets are our people, plain and simple. Other companies have machinery and power plants; we have our people. We had to have enough space for them to be comfortable if we’re going to continue to compete at the top of the e-commerce food chain. Our new headquarters will allow us to grow with plenty of room for our new people to park.”
The Shavertown building will provide 16,000 square feet, double what Solid Cactus currently rents. Amenities will include a full-court basketball court with locker rooms and showers, a full-service kitchen providing grab-n-go meals and snacks for employees, additional conference rooms, training areas and free parking. The offices being designed by Solid Cactus will feature an open, airy, modern look and feel with bright lighting.
The first floor will house the Call Center. The second floor will be home to Design, Store Programming, SaaS, Internet Marketing, Sales and Account Management. The third floor will house executive offices.
“Our growth has been phenomenal,” said Sanfilippo. “We had 36 people at the beginning of 2006. By the end of that year we were at 72. Currently we’re 115 and growing. This year we were recognized by Inc. Magazine as the 255th fastest growing company in the country. That’s great. But we were also recognized for the second year in a row as one of the “Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania”. Our people are happy and that is tremendously important to us. It really guides our decisions going forward. The move to Shavertown was a natural for us.”
Other Solid Cactus recent milestones:
– Three year growth was 922.4%
– Revenue for 2006 was $3.6 million – revenue for 2007 is expected to be over $7 million
