Solid Cactus®, an award-winning web design company and total solutions e-commerce provider, announces that it will maintain a satellite office in downtown Wilkes-Barre, PA after the company’s headquarters move to Shavertown, PA in February.
The company previously announced that its Wilkes-Barre offices would close with the opening of the Solid Cactus Technology Center in the former Westmoreland Elementary School on Lehigh Street in Shavertown. But recent growth in the company’s Virtual Office service offering requires more space.
“The demand for our Virtual Office services, which include call center services, e-mail management, live help and contracted customer service, already exceeds the number of seats allocated in our new facility” said company president Scott Sanfilippo. “Our current offices in the Jewelcor Center will be reconfigured in early January and will be devoted entirely to this one department.”
The Virtual Office department will expand from its current 25 people to ultimately employ between 100 and 125 over three shifts Monday through Friday and two shifts Saturday and Sunday.
The company had projected expanding to 252 jobs by the end of 2009, but with the addition of new products and service offerings, that number could double. “Our growth rate is difficult to calculate, but that’s a good thing,” said Sanfilippo. “It’s led to sleepless nights trying to decide where to put people, but that’s also a good thing.”
The Shavertown headquarters will house executive offices, sales, project management, programming, design, search marketing and technical support departments. Over 100 jobs currently being done in the Wilkes-Barre office will move starting in February with an additional 100 being created over the next 18 months at the Shavertown facility.
